Ural Neo 500 Update

We've been looking forward to writing this update for a very long time. For the first time, we aren't talking about what we're going to build. We're talking about motorcycles that already exist. And they're already crossing the Pacific.

Today we'd like to share some news we've been waiting a long time to tell you.

Over the past several months, we’ve been focused on the completing the EPA and CARB certification testing for Ural Neo. We're excited to tell you that the emissions testing phase is now complete.

This has been, by far, the longest and most demanding part of bringing Ural Neo to the United States. Along the way we encountered a few challenges that required more testing than we had originally planned. It wasn't always easy, and it certainly took longer than expected.

We're now working with EPA and CARB through the documentation review process before Certificates can be issued. While the timing ultimately depends on the agencies, we currently estimate that the review could take up to about six more weeks. Nevertheless, the hardest phase is now behind us.

The first production Ural Neo motorcycles have shipped and are now US-bound. Seeing those containers leave the factory was a surreal moment for everyone on our team. Twenty months ago, with the legacy business at a standstill and no clear path forward, the idea of bringing to market an entirely new sidecar motorcycle felt absolutely crazy. Today, Ural Neo has entered a completely new chapter: it is now about getting these motorcycles into your hands!

We know we haven't communicated as often as many of you were expecting – or as we would have liked. Ural Neo is being brought to market by an incredibly small team, and over the past several months we've been focused almost exclusively on getting this motorcycle across the finish line. Every day seemed to bring another challenge that needed to be solved before we could move to the next one. Thank you for sticking with us, we appreciate your patience over the past several months.

Timeline

Assuming the EPA/CARB review process proceeds on the expected timeline, we expect the first Ural Neo motorcycles to begin arriving at dealerships in late August or early September. We'll keep everyone updated as we move through the final steps.

Pricing

We’re pleased to officially announce U.S. pricing.

MSRP: $13,999

Destination charge is $1,250. Dealer setup and pre-delivery inspection charges, taxes, title, registration and licensing fees are additional.

Demo Tour

Many of you have asked what happened to our Ural Neo Demo Tour. The answer is that after pausing it following the first three events back in early spring, we made the decision not to resume it and focus all of our resources on getting production motorcycles into dealerships as quickly as possible. We believe that was the right choice. Instead of waiting for the demo tour to reach your city, you'll soon be able to experience Ural Neo at participating dealerships.

Production Continues

The motorcycles and parts currently crossing the Pacific are only the first shipment. Production continues, and more motorcycles are already moving down the assembly line. To ensure every motorcycle meets the standards we've set for Ural Neo, our Quality Director, Alexander ("Alex") Tarakanov, is currently in Chongqing, where he’s working alongside the factory team and personally supervising production and final assembly.

For our customers beyond the United States, we know many of you are waiting just as patiently as our U.S. customers, and we haven't forgotten about you. While our immediate focus has been completing the U.S. certification process, work on Euro 5+ homologation has continued in parallel. We're making steady progress and already have a Ural Neo 500 that meets Euro 5+ emissions limits. There are still several technical and regulatory steps to complete before the homologation process is finished, however, so we're not yet in a position to announce a launch timeline. We're looking forward to bringing Ural Neo to Europe, Japan, Canada and other international markets, and we'll share more as soon as we're ready.
